Our Voices, Our Stories
Wounds Canada has partnered with Lakehead University to host a national exchange focused on the patient experience and journey through wound care in Canada. This initiative is led by Dr. Ide Costa of Lakehead University’s School of Nursing, in collaboration with Dr. Michelle Spadoni (Lakehead University School of Nursing), Dr. Catherine Phillips (Lakehead University School of Social Work), Dr. Pilar Camargo Plazas (Queens University School of Nursing) and Mariam Botros (Wounds Canada). A wide range of interviews with patients living with or at risk of wounds and/or their caregivers will be featured here. You can read more about our knowledge mobilization project in the fall 2021 issue of Wounds Canada. At Wounds Canada, we believe in prioritizing the voices and stories of the patient. The more diverse stories we can compile, the better equipped we are to do what we do best—advocate and educate about wound prevention and management. ,
We gratefully acknowledge the support and funding of the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada (SSHRC) for this project.
