Tips from the Experts: Use of Advanced Therapies
Electrical stimulation therapy (E-stim) is an example of an evidence-informed advanced therapy that is independent of industry and that requires health professionals to advocate, educate and implement. Successful knowledge implementation strategies used to promote the addition of E-Stim into several sites across Canada within the “E-Stim Collaboration Project” will be presented. Lessons learned from the strategic implementation of advanced therapies into Alberta Health Services. Local policies and procedures (clinical resource tool) as well as other useful resources designed to help clinicians incorporate advanced therapies into everyday practice will be identified. The information provided can be used to support the implementation of advanced therapies into different health care settings located across Canada.
