Abstract: Diabetic foot ulcers represent a prevalent complication of diabetes mellitus, imposing a substantial clinical and economic burden on the global health-care system.1 The enormous economic toll of diabetes continues to burden society through direct medical and indirect costs. By directing research efforts appropriately, we can make significant strides in preventing diabetic foot complications, improving patient outcomes, and reducing the overall burden on health-care systems and individuals.
